More C8 Debut Thoughts

I cannot be the only one thinking this is an odd reveal time for such a major announcement. Kinda ironic a large majority of their buying demographic will be sleeping by the time the reveal begins. Hell, as an East Coaster myself, I’ll be half asleep myself waiting for the show to start.

I get that it’s hard to pick a time to is convenient to all of the US, but it just seems like you would get more viewership a litter earlier. Idk maybe that’s just me.

It’s going to be an interesting few days online once this debuts..

It’s really at 11:00 EDT? lol Is the event out in California?

I assumed it would be streamed at 4:27 from Bowling Green of something like that.

I didn’t really have an interest, but now I’m in trigued!!!! I hope there is a chat/post function during the stream so I can type “Where are my golf clubs going to fit????” over and over again.

Y eah it is a bit weird and should be set to EST since they are in Detroit... Set it to 9est or 10. Still 7pdt is a decent time.

I know cali is a big market but I bet the east coast is just as big.

Though I just hope they dont screw i t up

The timing is very strange. News that you want to bury you generally release on a Friday afternoon. This debut is Thursday night which means it’ll quickly get buried as the newscycle churns on.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think the date thing was cool f rom a marketing perspective but would imagine debuting sometime this afternoon may have been wiser.

It’s 8 PDT not 7, but I think 7 would’ve at least somewhat more appropriate.

Its definitely strange. ~48% of the population is in the Eastern Time zone, 29% in Central. Most of the country will be sleeping or close to it.

Seems weird to me too, but I’m just as happy to watch the recording and read the articles next day. I’m mostly curious to see how GM puts a uniquely American twist on the mid-engined supercar formula. They have to do something to differentiate it from the field. I hope price is one way, but I hope it’s not the only way.

I have no issue staying up to watch it, but do think it’s interesting that it’ll debut so late even in the area where they are built. Agree though, I am genuinely excited to see the C8 and what it offers.
